Felonies

Violent attack

Felonies are serious offenses punishable from anywhere between one year in prison to life in prison, or even death, in capital cases. They are prosecuted in Superior Court by the District attorney’s Office.

Conviction for a felony carries many consequences in addition to imprisonment.  One can be placed on probation, required to pay large fines, submit to random drug testing, obtain an alcohol and drug evaluation from a licensed drug addiction counselor and report to probation on a monthly basis. In addition, some offenses carry a driver’s license suspension, and, if you are not a citizen you may be subjected to immigration consequences.

It is vital that you contact an attorney when charged with a felony, as the consequences of going into court without the protection provided by someone dedicated to protecting you and your rights would be dire.

If you have the misfortune of finding yourself charged with a felony, please contact this office immediately. It can get better and we can help!
